Bosque Del Apache 2007-2008
About 20-50,000 snow geese and 8-10,000 sandhill cranes migrate every year to Bosque Del Apache National Wildlife refuge between the months of November to February . Since I moved to New Mexico about 2.5 years back, I have been there every year since the 2005 season to witness this wonderful spectacle, not just a awesome sight, but something to overwhelm all the senses. This is the start of the 2007 season..As of the thanksgiving weekend, some 2800 sandhill cranes and about 20,000 snow geese have already arrived. Some photographs here of the 2007-2008 season.
2nd trip on Jan 12-13, 2008 weekend - now there are about 50,000 snow geese, and 13,000+ sandhill cranes.
