July 28, 2007 - Unalaska at last !
Docked at Unalaska/Dutch Harbor port @ 8.30am. Took a taxi cab with Susan who showed us all the hotspots of Unalaska. Hundreds of bald eagles here. Bald eagles on the beach, at the dumpster, on every roof-top, cemetery, church spire, and foliage atop the mountains. I shot 4GB worth of bald eagles, but the slow internet on the Tusty prevents me from sharing my cachet with you. Patience, my friends ! Soon there will be a gallery of bald eagles. I very highly recommend Unalaska to all smugmuggers esp the birders !

on May 5, 2010"hotspots" means different things to different people i reckon. other than the birds its pretty bleak when i was there. of course that was fall and early winter and i was working with next to zero free-time. may have some influence on how i feel ;-)
