March 28, 2016 - San Jose to Arenal in a 30min flight.

Visit the butterfly conservancy at Arenal - the wonderful guide there was Jack, born and brought up in East Bay California, went to De La Salle high school here, is a science teacher, now doing a sabbatical in Costa Rica. Small world !

My favorite butterfly among may we saw, was the Glass-winged butterfly, so beautiful, and so difficult to photograph. taken with my new 200-500mm, f5.6, bought fort his trip on Tom Reichert's suggestion, thank you ! such a lovely lens, and yes , superlight for its range. all photos, handheld.
