on May 30, 2006Fantastic shot.. sharp, realistic color, exposure is spot on, and the bokeh is wonderfully smooth. Not to mention that you caught him singing! :) Good work!

on May 23, 2006Beautiful bird. Maybe steepen the K curve somehow to bring out shadow detail without losing deep pure shadows.

on May 21, 2006thanks all !John, that story on the song is really sweet, come to think of it, I think that's what it was saying ! Yes, Paul - the D200 arrived ( along with another 18-70!) from B&H sometime last week. I was hoping my photo quality will somehow improve and everybody will notice ;))!I've already messed the autofocus I think, i've read up on it..

on May 21, 2006Ahaaa Vandana I do like this one better, and I really liked the first one. A bit different tilt to the head, bit of glint in the eye..Hey you are the one that got me started on catch lights!!!!:-)

on May 21, 2006This is one cool photo! I really like the way the color smoothly and uniformly graduates in the background with out any other distracting elements. Also, it all appears so natural at first – until you look more closely and realize that the bird is perched on a piece of rebar :-) Beautiful picture.

on May 21, 2006Sweet meadowlark shot.
My dad used to tell me that the meadowlark's song was saying, "Utah is a pretty little place". As you might guess, my father is from the state of Utah! As I child, that's what I could hear when the meadowlark sang his song ;)

on May 21, 2006Darn, Thusie, you're quick to respond and difficult to please ;)) !I replaced the daily photo with another - he does a light in his eye, albeit little. I have more to process, maybe I'll find something better. Hope you like this better.. the previous one is here
